Loan Proof

Loan Proof is the short list of things a man can be asked to produce with a loan application: a medical bill, a fee voucher, an estimate for house repairs. You set the list up once, and the loan screens then tick off which of them a particular loan needs.

What it is for

A client's loan policy usually asks for evidence. A medical advance needs a bill, a children's education advance needs a fee voucher, a house repair advance needs an estimate. Without a list, each loan officer asks for whatever he remembers.

This screen is that list. It is short, it changes almost never, and both Employee Loan Request and Employee Loan data read it to build their proof lines.

Every field, in plain words

FieldWhat it meansWhat to put in itNotes
Loan ProofThe code for this proofMEDICALRequired. Short and readable. It appears on the loan screens, so make it something a loan officer recognises
NameThe proof in wordsHospital bill or prescriptionRequired. Write it as an instruction, so the officer knows what to ask for
Required Supporting DocumentWhether a document has to be produced for this proofTickedTick it where the client's policy requires the paper itself to be held on file
BlockStops the proof being used on new loansLeave it clearTick it to retire a proof the client no longer asks for. Existing loans keep the proof lines they already have

How to configure it

  1. Ask the client for their loan policy and read off the list of documents it asks for.
  2. Add one record per document, with a code the loan officer will recognise and a name written as an instruction.
  3. Leave Block clear.
  4. Save each one.

Scenarios

The client has stopped asking for a salary certificate

Tick Block on that record rather than deleting it. Loans already on file keep their proof line, which is what you want when somebody asks a year later what was produced at the time.

What it is connected to

If something looks wrong

  • "The proof list on the loan screen is empty" - no proofs have been set up here yet, or every one of them is blocked.
  • "A proof we blocked still shows on an old loan" - that is correct. Blocking stops it being chosen on new loans and leaves the record of what was asked for in the past.
