Payroll Tax Group
A payroll tax group is a list of Payroll Tax Slab records under one name. It is a convenience for keeping slabs together, and the payroll run does not read it.
What it is for
The screen lets you name a group and list the slabs that belong to it, which is useful when a client keeps several slab tables side by side, for example the salaried table and a separate one for directors.
What it does not do is attach a slab to anybody. A man's slab table reaches the payroll run through the tax zone named on his Employee Policy Profile, and the zone carries the slab. If a client reports that tax is not being calculated, this screen is not where to look, the policy profile and its tax zone are.
Because nothing calculates from a group, filling it in is optional. Create it if the client finds the grouping useful, and do not use it to try to change who is taxed how.

Scenarios
"We have put the slab in the tax group and no tax is being deducted"
Expected. The group is not read by the payroll run. Check the tax zone on the man's Employee Policy Profile and make sure the zone carries the right Payroll Tax Slab.
If something looks wrong
- "Tax is zero for everybody" - the slab is not reaching them. Look at the tax zone on the policy profile, not at this screen.
- "The slab list here is empty" - no Payroll Tax Slab has been created yet.
