State
The provinces. Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and the rest arrive with the system. An address in a country that requires a province picks from this list.
What it is for
Every state belongs to one country, and that is the whole point of the screen: when somebody picks Pakistan on an address, the province list narrows to Pakistan's provinces, and when they pick a province the city list narrows again.
The Pakistani provinces are already there. You come here to add a province of another country the client has an address in, or to correct a name.
Where the Country record has State Required ticked, an address in that country cannot be saved without a province from this list.

How to configure it
- Make sure the Country exists first.
- Open State and check the provinces the client needs are there. Pakistan's are.
- To add one, enter the code, the name and the country.
- Save, then add its cities on City.
Scenarios
We have an office in Dubai and the province list is empty for the UAE
Add the emirate as a state with Country set to the UAE, then add Dubai as a city under it. The address can then be completed.
What it is connected to
- Country must exist first, and a state belongs to exactly one.
- City hangs below the state.
- Every address field that asks for a province reads this list, narrowed to the country already picked.
If something looks wrong
- "It will not let me delete a province, it says it is predefined" - that is correct.
- "The province list is empty on an address" - no state names the country that was picked.
- "The city list is empty after picking a province" - no City names that province.
